Jewish Educational Alliance: Call for young creatives for group art show

Press Release from JEA: Student artists in grades 3-12 sought to participate in show inspired by Jewish art icons.

The Jewish Educational Alliance (JEA) is pleased to announce the Youth Creatives Group Show Celebrating Jewish Art Icons.

The JEA is asking students to unleash their creativity and talent for a chance to have their masterpiece exhibited in a group show during the month of September. This show may feature drawings, paintings, collages, photography, sculpture, fibers and more inspired by some of the most iconic artists in history—who all happen to be Jewish.

Whether a piece by Chagall or Frankenthaler or Winogrand is selected as inspiration, the student may present their interpretative masterpiece in the medium of their choosing. The online submission may be found on the JEA website: savannahjea.org/artsandideas. All artwork must be delivered
to the JEA at 5111 Abercorn St. by Monday, Aug. 26.

This special show coincides with the Montag Gallery opening reception being held on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cash prizes and more will be awarded to the finalists.

The JEA serves as the meeting place for Jewish people and Savannah neighbors to build relationships with all groups concerned with enriching community life.
